Flat White

Ask any Barista what a flat white is and you’ll get different answers or recipe. Flat White originated in Australia in the 1980s. Some believes it originated from New Zealand and was created as an accident, a failed cappuccino. Regardless of its origin and how it started, Flat White seems to be today’s popular choice of coffee.

To sum up what flat white is, it has more coffee than milk. This is where coffee extraction ratio comes in. With Flat White, we believe a 1:2 ratio using an 8 oz cup is perfect for a flat white. Latte on the other hand has a 1:1.5 ratio which makes it milkier than a flat white. Here is a short video of how we make our flat white.
