Mandehling refers to an ethnic group on the island of Sumatra. This coffee is grown at an altitude of 2,500ft to 5,000ft. We often see Grade 1 or 2 in Sumatran coffees. This usually refers to the cupping grade and not the crop.
This coffee has a creamy body, earthy, woody, spicy dark chocolates and hints of tobacco notes. It is quite an acquired taste but great for those who prefer very strong flavours.
